How to Change the Password for Your Email

The password you use for a Gandi email address is separate from the password for your Gandi account. This allows you to create email mailboxes for many people on your domain, each with his or her own password. You can change the password in the setting for your domain name.

Important

Some mail apps on smartphone can encounter issues with characters “@” and “!” in the password. To avoid any issues, we highly recommend to avoid these characters in your emails passwords.

To change the password for an email inbox follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Gandi account.

  2. Select “Domains” in the left menu.

  3. Select the domain associated with the email you wish to modify.

  4. Select the “Email” tab.

  5. Click the mailbox name or the contextual menu (፧) to the right, and choose “Manage”.

  6. Select “Change the password”.

  7. Type in the new password.

  8. Select the green “Change the password” to confirm.

A use can modify his password from the “Roundcube” webmail, in Settings, Password.

As he must be logged to access this function, it can’t be used to reset a forgotten password, but allow the user to personalize his password if necessary.
