Where to Find the calDAV Link in SOGo Webmail¶
You can sync your calendar and contacts with your SOGo account using the CalDAV and CardDAV protocols. The first two sections explain how to find the necessary links to set up your software to sync your calendar or contacts via SOGo. Later sections give specific instructions on how to set up syncing with some of the most commonly used software options.
Find the Link to the CalDAV Server¶
You can find the link to sync with your SOGo calendar by following these steps:
After logging into SOGo, click on the calendar icon on the upper-right hand corner.
Next to the calendar name on the left-hand menu (by default it’s “Personal Calendar”) click on the three vertical dots to display the options for that calendar and choose “Links to this calendar”.
You will then see the CalDAV, WebDAV ICS, and WebDAV XML URLs.
Find the Link to the CardDAV Server¶
You can find the link to sync with your SOGo contacts by following these steps:
After logging into SOGo, click on the address book icon on the upper-right hand corner.
Next to the calendar name on the left-hand menu (by default it’s “Personal Address Book”) click on the three vertical dots to display the options for that calendar and choose “Links to this Address Book”.
You will then see the CardDAV link.
Sync with Outlook¶
You can use Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer to link your SOGo calendar with Outlook. SOGo provides a step by step configuration guide to guide you through installing and setting up the Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer with SOGo.
Sync Calendar with Thunderbird¶
To set up calendar syncing with your Thunderbird client, use the following steps.
Note
These instructions assume that you are using a recent version of Thunderbird with built in calendar features. For older versions of Thunderbird (before version 60), you may need to download Lightning as a Thunderbird add-on to use calendars.
Follow the above instructions to get the link to your SOGo calendar. Copy the CalDAV link.
In Thunderbird click on “File”, then “New”, then “Calendar.”
Select “On the Network” then click “Next.”
Enter your email address you use to log in to SOGo in the “Username” field, then paste the link to your SOGo calendar next to “Location”. Then, click “Find Calendars.”
Enter the password you use to log in to SOGo.
Select “CalDAV” as the calendar type. Make sure all calendars you want to subscribe to have a checkmark next to them. Then, click “Subscribe.”
Choose your desired display options for your calendar and click “Next.”
Your calendar is now added. You can view it in Thunderbird by going to the “Events and Tasks” menu then selecting “Calendar”. The name of the calendar should now appear in the list of calendars on the left side of the screen.
You can also find more information in SOGo’s Mozilla Thunderbird Configuration Guide.
Sync Contacts with Thunderbird¶
To set up contact syncing with your Thunderbird client, follow these steps:
Download the SOGo connector from SOGo’s download page. Click on the “Frontends” tab and find the version for your installation of Thunderbird. Download the appropriate version by right clicking on the version number and selecting “Save Link As…”
Next, you will install the SOGo connector in Thunderbird. Start by clicking “Tools” then “Add-ons.”
Click the gear icon near the top of the page and select “Install add on from file…”
Find the location of the file you just downloaded and select it, then click “Open.”
When prompted, click “Add” to add SOGo Connector to Thunderbird.
Choose to restart Thunderbird.
Find and copy the link CardDAV link in your SOGo account by following the steps above.
In Thunderbird, open the address book window by selecting “Tools” then “Address Book.”
In the address book window, select “File”, then “New”, then “Remote Address Book.”
Give your address book a name. It can be any name you choose.
Paste the CardDAV link you got from SOGo in the “URL” box.
