How to Pay With or Save a Credit Card

Gandi accepts the following credit cards:

  • VISA / Electron

  • EuroCard / MasterCard

  • American Express

  • Carte Bleue

You can save a credit card during the payment process or in the Billing section of your account.

If you encounter a verification problem during the Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode, phase of payment, then you will need to contact your bank in order to obtain your codes. You may also pay for your order by PayPal if you are in a hurry. Note that Gandi cannot unblock a verification hold, however, since this verification is done by your bank.

It is possible to set up your Gandi account to automatically withdraw funds from your credit card in order to credit your Gandi prepaid account by entering it as a saved payment method. You can learn more about this on our prepaid account page.

Note

You must have 3D Secure set up on your credit card for this to work. If you have not done so, please call your bank to enable 3D Secure before proceeding. This is also known as “Verified by Visa”, “MasterCard SecureCode”, and other names. Learn more here.

Save a Credit Card Without Making a Purchase

If your credit card allows authorizations, you can add your credit card in your account info by following these steps.

Important

Some brands of credit card, such as American Express and JCB, can only be added during checkout. This is because these credit card companies will only verify a card’s validity during an actual purchase. The requirements can also be different based on your location. If your credit card falls in this category you can process your first purchase manually by entering your information during checkout and then save the card for future automatic purchases.

  1. After logging in, go to the “Billing” section of your account.

  2. Click on the organization you wish to modify.

  3. Click “Automatic Payments.”

  4. Click on “Add credit card.”

  5. Choose a name for your credit card to help you identify the card in the future.

  6. Choose the credit card type.

  7. Click “Submit.”

  8. Enter the credit card information and click “Continue.”

When you add a credit card to your account an authorization request for a small amount, such as €1.00, will be made to verify your credit card is valid. This authorization request will disappear within a few days and no money will be debited from your account.

Save a Credit Card During a Purchase

To save a credit card during checkout, follow these steps:

  1. During your order (or crediting of your prepaid account), choose to pay by credit card.

  2. Enter your credit card information and select the toggle switch next to “Save this credit card for future purchases”

  3. Enter a name to identify your credit card in the field provided. You can enter whatever name will help you identify this card in the future.

  4. Complete your checkout as normal.

Choose a Default Card

Your default credit card will be used for any automatic purchases. If you have more than one card saved, and want to change the default card, you can follow these steps:

  1. After logging into your account, select “Billing”.

  2. Select which organization you wish to manage. If you want to manage to your personal account choose the organization with the Me tag.

  3. Click on the “Automatic Payments” tab.

  4. Find the saved credit card in the list and click “Use as default.”
