What is a Professional SSL Certificate?¶
Pro SSL certificates are a type of SSL certificate that comes with a financial warranty that will insure you in the event of a security breach for the amount chosen for the certificate. This type of certificate also includes verification of your identity, to provide extra assurance to your customers that you are who you claim to be.
This type of certificate is only available to accounts that are legal entities, such as businesses or associations, and not individuals.
Note
In order for an association to qualify for a Pro SSL certificate the association must be registered in the Dun & Bradsheet database.
When you order a Pro SSL Certificate you will need to provide some documentation to help verify your identity.
Single Address¶
Gandi’s single-sddress Pro certificate is good for when you need to secure a website that conducts financial transactions.
There are four types of Pro Standard certificates that you can choose from when making your purchase on our website:
Warrantied up to $10,000
Warrantied up to $100,000
Warrantied up to $250,000
Full Domain¶
Unlike the Single-address Pro SSL certificates, the full domain version lets you secure more than one address on its domain name. For example:
www.example.com
admin.example.com
billing.example.com
support.example.com
forum.example.com
Tip
If you need to secure various domain names through one certificate (for example www.example.com and www.example.net), then you would want to choose one of our standard or business several address certificates. Certificates covering several addresses are not available for Pro SSL certificates.
Pro full domain certificates are warrantied up to $250,000
“Warrantied” means that you are financially covered up to the amount of your warranty in the event that the security of your website is compromised
