How and Why You Need to Confirm Your Email Address¶
For domain names under ICANN’s sponsorship, Gandi is required to confirm the validity of the email address of the owner’s contact handle. We therefore send out a verification email following :
The creation of a new domain contact
The domain’s creation
The domain’s transfer to Gandi
An owner change
An email address change for a domain owner
Warning
If you do not verify your email address for the owner contact, the newly registered domain name or names owned by the contact will be deactivated after 15 days.
Confirmation Email Contents¶
To perform the verification, Gandi will send a confirmation email to the email address that you provided for the domain’s owner contact.
This confirmation email is sent from the email address, noreply@domainnameverification.net, and contains a link that you will need to click on. This link is unique to your email address but will resemble the following:
https://check.gandi.net/?hash=tnkcba1285c33a86776a20xb9987353a6a20xb285c33
For security reasons, no password will be asked of you as part of this process. In the event that the above link takes you to an error page, please contact our support team.
Resend Validation Email¶
If, for some reason, you did not validate your contact’s email address within the 15-day period that ICANN has defined, then all the domain names under that handle will be suspended.
You can resend the emails from within your Gandi account. When you log in there will be a warning on your Dashboard that your email address has not been confirmed. Click “Resend email” to send another email.
