Web Forwarding¶
Web forwarding is used when you want your domain name to automatically redirect visitors to another URL. It is easy to set up and it’s free. Web forwarding can be used for redirections within your domain (i.e. example.com → www.example.com) as well as redirecting your domain name to another domain entirely (i.e. example.com → www.example.org).
Note that to be able to use web forwarding under the best conditions, the domain name in question must be using Gandi’s LiveDNS.
How to set up web forwarding¶
After clicking on the domain to enter it’s admin, choose „Web Forwarding“ in the navigation menu, and then click „Create“ under „Add your first web forwarding address“.
You can now:
specify the subdomain: this is the part before the domain, like www, etc. - Leave it empty to forward just the domain,
specify the Address to forward to: choose the type (http, https, ftp) in the dropdown and then provide the remaining part of the url in the field after it.
